I finally found something you believe that I disagree with. As far as I can tell, you were so disappointed that the Godzilla character was not the same one from the Toho series, that it caused you to watch the movie just so that you can make a list of stuff for you to hate on it for. This is what I call nitpicking. Nitpicking is bad. A movie review is far from complete if you just point out all the individual things you hate. Instead, look at the movie as a whole. I like the Toho series of films, but I also like this one too. It's not a real Godzilla film, it's something seperate. It's not anything that could be called high class entertainment, and neither is the Toho series. They are giant monster movies, they are popcorn entertainment. You were young, and you were disappointed. It's time to get over it.
I did, and it was filled with plot holes, inconsistencies, terrible characters, bad writing, bad acting, disrespecting of the source material with no effort put into it. Sure most of the Showa (besides the first film) era was just as mindless, but the Heisei and Millennium eras did have a little something more to them. Some subtle themes sprinkled in and added to the over Godzilla lore.
